Event Waste:

• Choose a venue which can provide a recycling service for waste
• Engage OzHarvest or other food collection agencies to pick up waste food
• For large outdoor events, engage a waste service company which can provide recycle bins and collection of recyclables
• Ensure you have plenty of clear signage for disposing of waste and recyclables to avoid cross-contamination

Suppliers:

• Choose carbon neutral businesses to supply third party services
• Ask about a company’s environmental credentials before engaging them; like-minded people will make the process itself easier

Communicate & Educate:

• Communicate, educate; influence and inspire! Leave your participants with more than sore ears and a hangover!
• Engage your participants by communicating the green steps you’ve taken through clever methods such as on the back of tickets, menus or place cards
• Document all the processes that you implement and have proof of these to provide to any interested persons
