The CPRS
The Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, which was recently introduced by the federal government, will require approximately 1000 organisations to report their carbon emissions and purchase permits for every tonne of CO2 they release.
Every organisation that has a facility with direct emissions of 25 kilotonnes CO2e per year will be covered by the scheme and required to purchase permits.

CEO’s of organisation who fail to report risks fines exceeding $200,000.00 and their organisations face brand and reputation risks as without reporting they will not likely recoginise their commitment under the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.
CRI can assist your business with designing and implementing the neccessary data collection processes, deliver an NGER report and create an emissions monitoring policy for your organisation.
The process:
- Initial scoping meeting: identification of all possible emission sources, and all data sources, sites, locations etc.
- Data collection process: Use of internet based tools to collect energy and fuel use, use of customised survey to collect data regarding fugitive releases.
- Interim Report: Calculations are returned to the customer with as an interim report, this report will determine if any data is missing, or whether the organisation is a compliance party, close to compliance, or far from compliance.
- NGERS Monitoring Policy: If you are required to report or close to reporting under the NGESR legislation, CRI will assist with a data collection policy, including software that will assist you gather all the data across a large number of sites.
- Report Presentation: The report will be presented to the executive board or appropriate parties, during this presentation CRI will advise on areas that have obvious inexpensive reduction opportunities, on future monitoring
- Final Report: The Final report will be formatted to comply with the NGER legislation.
