Greenhouse Gas Audit and Monitoring

A Thorough and High Integrity Greenhouse Gas Audit and Monitoring Process

The NoCO2 certification program is underpinned by a greenhouse gas audit and emissions monitoring process that is one of the most thorough and comprehensive of any other program in the market.

Company level carbon audits under the NoCO2 program exceed the measurement requirements of the International Standard for Greenhouse Gas Accounting (ISO 14064.1). The audits take into account emissions from suppliers and the embodied emissions from all consumption that occurs in running a business.

Similarly, the life cycle assessments that we provide for carbon neutral product certification trace the greenhouse gas impacts of the products from cradle to consumer, ensuring that a company captures the greenhouse gas impact over all steps where it has liability. Our LCAs follow the processes outlined in ISO 14044.

This comprehensive approach is fundamentally important to the credibility of the program and the ends that it aims to achieve. If we are to transform the economy, then we need to trace our greenhouse gas impacts all the way back to the ground.

Companies within the NoCO2 certification program are required to undertake annual carbon audits. This monitoring process captures any changes in a company’s carbon footprint and allows for continued refinement and pursuit of emission reduction measures.

A greenhouse gas audit also provides your organisation with a comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory of its impacts, allowing it to identify and target reductions from its major emissions sources.
