Certify your Event

Events, whether large or small, have some impact on the environment. They tend to consume a lot of resources and produce excessive waste.

Under the NoCO2 Program you can make any type of event carbon neutral by measuring its footprint and offsetting the impact of this through the purchase of carbon credits. The approach we take for conducting a carbon audit of your event is explained in the diagram below.

Events often act as a showcase for a company and all of the elements within that can reflect the company’s values and brand. By making an event carbon neutral you are sending a strong message to guests, sponsors, stakeholders and suppliers that your organisation takes environmental sustainability seriously.

CRI offers audits for events, advice and consultation on reducing the impact of events as well as the brokering of carbon credits in offsetting your event. We have worked with partners such as the Australian Centre for Event Management and the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau to develop tools for event organisers to measure, reduce and offset their event’s footprint. We also work specifically with venues such as the Mercure Meetings Service and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre to measure and offset events.
