Climate Change Claims Verification

The Carbon Reduction Institute offers a climate change claims verification service for companies that wish to examine the claims that they intend to make about their product or service.
We use a logical and straightforward process to validate a climate change claim. This is outlined below.
Scope Definition
The first stage of our claims verification service involves scope definition. Our assessment team will work with you to determine the scope of the environmental claims that you wish to verify. This will ensure that you have considered the greenhouse gas impact of every aspect of your product or system
Methodology
Our team will critically determine whether the published or most appropriate greenhouse gas accounting methodology was applied in the calculation of the product’s carbon footprint. Particular issues to be addressed include materiality thresholds, sensitivity analysis and assumptions made.
References: Our assessment team will determine whether calculations and assumptions are appropriately referenced. The quality of references utilized will also be critiqued.
Monitoring and Reporting:
We will determine whether appropriate emissions monitoring and reporting protocols are in place.
